Boy, 16, dies after going swimming in lake in Nottinghamshire

A body has been found during the search for a 16-year-old boy who went missing in a lake in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to Colwick Country Park at 17:20 BST on Wednesday after the boy got into difficulty whilst swimming in the water, Nottinghamshire Police said.

Nottinghamshire Police said an underwater search team was deployed and the boy’s body was found shortly before 20:00.

Ch Insp David Mather, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: „This is a tragic discovery and our thoughts are with this boy’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.“
